Abstract: (29 Views)
Surah Al-Masad is a Meccan surah of the Quran that, with its five verses, reveals historical facts and the conflicts of the era of the Prophet (PBUH). Due to the brevity of the verses and the simplicity of the apparent meaning, this surah does not have a multiplicity of themes and has received less attention from commentators, and they generally have the same interpretation of the verses of this surah and its content. By analyzing the words from the lexical and syntactic aspects, and criticizing the interpretative statements, it is possible to challenge the popular interpretation and interpret the verses of the surah in a different way. With the above approach, it became clear that this surah does not seek to inform about the hellishness of Abu Lahab and his wife and the fear of their falling into the fire; rather, this surah has given news about the future of the Prophet's mission (PBUH) and his success and the progress and failure of one of his prominent enemies, namely Abu Lahab and his two supporting arms, namely Mal and his wife, after determining the successor of Imam Ali (PBUH) at the party of the clan of the closest relatives. Another prophecy in this Surah is the news of Abu Lahab's incitement and sedition during wars and... against the Prophet (PBUH). In fact, this Surah does not seek to curse and warn Abu Lahab and his wife, nor does it seek to inform or explain their hellish nature; rather, it is a harbinger and prophecy of the success of the Prophet (PBUH) and the defeat of his enemies after the use of numerous propaganda and tricks at the beginning of the call and the installation of the successor of the Commander of the Faithful (PBUH).
