Abstract:   (13 Views)
This article examines the inherent dignity of man in the physical dimension from the perspective of the Holy Quran. The main issue of this research is to answer the question of whether the inherent dignity of man also refers to his physical dimension. This understanding can have a significant impact on explaining the position of man in the system of creation. The present research, using the library study method and the analytical-interpretive problem-solving method with the application of thematic interpretation, analyzes the reasons for the denial of inherent dignity in the physical dimension and the evidence to prove this view. The attribution of the best of creators to God Almighty and the fact that man prostrates after breathing the soul and the physical characteristics of dignity are not universal, among the reasons for the denial of the inherent dignity of man in the physical dimension. In contrast, those who affirm the inherent dignity of man in the physical dimension used evidence such as the beautiful form and calendar, balance in composition, and the distinctiveness of some senses and organs of man compared to other animals, which were criticized and analyzed. In this regard, interpretive narrations regarding physical dignity are examined and their documentary and conceptual strength is assessed. The article ultimately concludes that Quranic and narrational evidence attributes the inherent dignity of man to his spiritual and intellectual characteristics, and attributing this dignity to the physical dimension faces several problems.
