Most of the commentators are of the opinion that Uzair's question in the verse 259 of Baqarah is about how to revive, and Hazrat Uzair (a) was revived with his roadster in this story and he witnessed how his roadster came back to life. His food and drink have also remained unchanged after a hundred years by divine power. The present study has analyzed the weakness and shortcomings of the famous interpretation opinion and explained the new point of view by lexical analysis and explaining the semantic connection of the verse with the verses of its sides. According to the new perspective, Hazrat Uzair (a) did not ask about the quality of resurrection and revival, but about the time and how the time passes in the matter of revival, and God, by killing him and decaying his bones, showed him the time and the way the time passes in purgatory. On this event, Uzair`s roadster and his food and drink are not included in this one hundred years of purgatory, but the one day or half day mentioned by Uzair. In this article, the close relationship between verses 258 to 260 and their semantic and central connection has been explained.
