An Exegetic Study of the Verses of David and Solomon`s
Judgment as Viewed by Fariqain Commentators

In spite of lack of any detailed statements on David and Solomon`s judgement in the holy Quran about the sheep that had entered a farm at night and destroyed it, numerous traditions, differently expressed, are found in fariqain commentators in the field. On this basis, various comments have presented by fariqain commentators. The author has intended to present fariqain`s exegetic views and explain their causes and grounds. As seen in the paper, all the traditions denoting David and Solomon`s disagreement in judging are known as mowquf and maqtu` and like story tellers focus on details; these traditions are taken from Jewish sources and are not in agreement with the Quranic verses and valid traditions. The Israelite traditions have entered Sunni and Shiite sources respectively |
