Abstract: (21 Views)
The story of the "Ashabol Qaryah" (people of the village), which is mentioned only in Surah Yasin, has similarities with the story of the sending of Christ's apostles to various lands mentioned in the Holy Bible. Therefore, commentators attribute the "Ashabol Qaryah" to the people of Antakya. This is despite the fact that there are obvious contradictions between these Biblical stories and the Quranic story; for example, the text of the verses refers to the punishment of the "Alqaryah", while historical books not only do not provide an account of the punishment coming upon Antakya, but also consider Antakya to be the first city to believe in Christ. These contradictions raised the need to examine the opinions of commentators and the reason for the correspondence of the "Ashabol Qaryah" to Antakya, so that this issue can be explained by analyzing the verses and examining the intertextuality of Surah Yasin with the Holy Bible. Finally, it was found that the existence of commonalities and similarities between the story of the "Ashabol Qaryah" and several different stories from the Bible, each of which is related to a different land, has forced commentators to match them with each other. However, in none of these stories is there any mention of a person coming from "the farthest part of the city" and there is no mention of the coming of punishment to Antakya. The presence of two Israeli narrators, namely Wahab ibn Munabih and Ka'b al-Ahbar, is also not without influence in the narration of these Israeli stories. According to some evidence within the text, the "Ashabol Qaryah" were a Jewish people who resisted the messengers of God and were punished. The use of the word "Rahman", to refer to "Rajm" (stoning) and "tatayyor" (To be sinister) which are part of Jewish beliefs, is presented as evidence in this view.
