The word Wilayat has different lexical and terminological meanings, and the connection of the verse of Wilayat with the preceding and following verses and its meaning are disputed by the commentators of the parties. Most of the Sunni commentators believe in the unity of the context of the verses and consider the meaning of love and support to be the meaning of verses 51 to 58 of Surah Ma'idah, but most of the Shia commentators believe in the lack of connection between the verses and refer to the guardianship of Wilayat in verses 55 and 56 of Surah Ma'idah. In the previous and following verses, they mean love and support. The Supreme Leader considers the word "velayat" to mean unity and unity, which is one of the literal meanings of this word, and by explaining the three dimensions of "velayat" based on this meaning and applying it to the mentioned verses, it reveals the connection between the verses. The present article explains the view of Ayatollah Khamenei with descriptive-analytical method and compares it with the views of the Fariqin commentators. The author believes in the connection between the verses by presenting the evidences and clues within the text and proving Imam Khamenei's point of view, and in all the mentioned verses, he considers the idiomatic meaning of "guardianship" to be the meaning of the verses. It is clear that it is not forbidden to have political and economic relations with Jews and Christians, but it is forbidden to be on the same front with them and to accept their rule and tutelage. Islamic society is a society that is under the guardianship of God, His Messenger, and Imam Masoom (a.s.).
