The topic of divine governance during the occultation ("Qaybat") era, has been discussed by many Muslim thinkers, especially Shias, under various titles, including the “Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist” ("Walayat al-Faqih"), especially in the last few decades. The direct effect of this debate on the state of Islamic societies on the one hand, and the disagreement of theorists on various aspects on the other hand have caused this. The present study is the first step towards finding a Quranic perspective on this issue, which deals with the study of “Imaamat” ("Imāmah") in verses 65 to 72 of Surah al-Isra. In these verses a degree of “Imaamat” over the society is discussed, which can be a model for studying its characteristics, and also proves the necessity of forming a divine governance during the occultation era. The research method is about paying attention to the relationship between the verses of the “Siaq” ("Siyāq" or segment of verses), especially the relationship between verses 70 and 71. According to this, the continuity of God's advocacy ("Wikaalat") regarding human beings is realized through individual leadership within the society, and in this way, God passes the society safely through chaotic situations and brings it to the highest degrees of perfection ("Fazl"). At the beginning of the paper, the siaq of the verses is studied through three separate parts. Then, by exploring the connection between these parts, it approaches to comprehend the main motif of these verses.
