During the last century, because of the growth of population, water consumption has grown tenfold. A large amount of the growth has been in the world of Islam. The holy Quran has dealt with water in 290 verses. As is understood by the Quran, in addition to its being a means for power, water has been taken as a means for punishment. It can, therefore, be seen that the number of dead by flood is more than the number of those by earthquake. Today, by the progress of natural sciences, the importance of Quranic teachings in the field of human relationship with nature and natural environment have become more apparent. The holy Quran has paid special attention to nature and its elements including water and its vital benefits in human life. And it is just the problem centered upon today by scientists. This paper has intended to survey the position of water during our age and future as may be understood by Quranic teachings in the field. Paying special attention to the Quranic teachings in the field has been known as necessary to day.
