According to the commentators` views, the effect of human deed on the formation of the soul is undoubtable. There is no difference between scholars and commentators in the occurrence of a type of change called metamorphosis, namely changing from a higher state to a lower one; but there is a difference of opinion among the commentators regarding its appearance in the world in the field of the external body. Tusi, Sadrayi Shirazi, and Tabatabaei, among the Shia commentators, not only consider apparent metamorphosis to be possible, but also believe in its occurrence, and consider the metamorphosis of the companions of the Sabt, which God Almighty mentioned in the Qur'an, to be an apparent metamorphosis. While Maraghi and Rashidreza, one of the Sunni commentators, do not believe in external metamorphosis and consider the metamorphosis of the Sabt companions to be internal. In this article, with the comparative-analytical method, the arguments of the opponents of apparent metamorphosis are rejected and the possibility of this metamorphosis is proven with reasons such as the rational possibility of apparent metamorphosis, its occurrence in the resurrection, and the distinction between metamorphosis and reincarnation. Also, it is proved by the use of narrational evidence that the occurrence of this metamorphosis is not impossible and the metamorphosis of the Sabt companions that the Qur'an refers to was an apparent metamorphosis.
